I'm there and I post something everyday. Blogger has made it easy to do directly from the post I'm featuring. The secret to Facebook is NOT getting caught up in the games that detract from my writing. I started a farm on Farmville and found I was spending way too much time harvesting crops and feeding the animals rather than writing. Yes, it was fun, but I walked away. I'm still chanting. I will not go back, I will not go back, I will not go back. After all they animals are only virtual...they won't starve. *lol*

Of course I'm on FB, at http://www.facebook.com/levraphael

Every author should be. Fans reach me more now via FB than via my web site (http://www.levraphael.com) and I get interview requests via FB, too. International fans especially seek me through FB. I've now done interviews "in" Vienna and Brazil thanks to FB.

I also have a FB group for my latest book "My Germany"

It's really the best way to keep in touch with various networks and build them, and the key is to 1) not oversell yourself but to share links and quotes you find appealing or intriguing, and 2) limit your time to 15-30 minutes every morning, say, and 3) AVOID ALL GAMES AND TIME WASTING.

:-)

And by the way:
It's almost time for the second annual Hard Boiled Guy/B-Girl Day- a reason to have an early costume party in October or just an excuse to bump gums with a couple of palookas or have a snort with a skirt or two.

Celebrate a dark and dirty world: Hard Boiled Guy/B-Girl Day, October 18: http://hardnosedsleuth.blogspot.com/

Last year three of us gathered at a local pub to wear trench coats and Fedoras, share a couple of pints, and smoke a cigar. We can't smoke in bars any more in Michigan, but we'll still gather.

Original posts had wrong facebook address. Sorry!
